Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how jheel.io ("jheel.io", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and handles information in connection with our services. jheel.io is built and operated by Lost Ferry Interactive.

By accessing or using the jheel.io API, platform, or website, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information. When you request API access, we collect your name, email address, company name, and any other information you provide through our contact or onboarding process.

API Usage Data. We log metadata about API requests made using your API key, including timestamps, endpoint paths, response times, and processing costs. We do not log the content of uploaded documents beyond what is necessary to provide the extraction service.

Uploaded Documents. Documents you submit for processing are stored temporarily to perform the requested extraction. Once extraction is complete and results have been made available via the API, documents are retained only for the period specified in your service agreement.

Extracted Data. Structured JSON output from document extraction is retained within your session for retrieval via the API and to power RAG query functionality.

Contact Form Submissions. If you contact us via our website, we collect the name, email address, and message content you provide.

Technical Data. We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser user agents, and request metadata for security and infrastructure monitoring purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the jheel.io API and platform
  • Process documents and return extraction results to you
  • Manage your account and API key access
  • Calculate and invoice processing costs
  • Monitor service health, uptime, and security
  • Respond to support requests and enquiries
  • Send service-related notices, including changes to our terms or this policy
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your uploaded documents, extracted data, or API usage logs to train AI models, whether our own or third-party.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or your document data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

We may share information with:

  • Infrastructure providers. Cloud hosting and storage providers used to operate the jheel.io platform, subject to data processing agreements consistent with this policy.
  • Legal authorities. Where required by applicable law, court order, or government regulation.
  • Business successors. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, in which case we will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

Uploaded documents are retained for a limited period following extraction — typically 30 days — unless you delete them via the API or your service agreement specifies a different period. Extracted JSON data within sessions is retained for the duration of your active account.

Account and billing information is retained for the duration of your relationship with jheel.io and for a period thereafter as required by applicable tax and accounting obligations.

5. Data Security

We implement technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Data at rest is encrypted using industry-standard protocols.

API keys are your responsibility to keep confidential. Do not share API keys or commit them to version control. Contact us immediately if you believe a key has been compromised.

6. Agent Integrations

When you configure agents with access to third-party systems (Shopify, NetSuite, Postmark), jheel.io acts as a data processor on your behalf. The credentials and access tokens you provide for these integrations are stored encrypted and used solely to execute actions you have authorised via the agent's tool declarations. We do not access or store data from these systems beyond what is necessary to complete the requested action.

7. Cookies and Tracking

The jheel.io website uses a minimal number of technically necessary cookies to maintain session state. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics services on our website.

8. International Data Transfers

jheel.io operates infrastructure in data centres that may be located outside your jurisdiction. Where data is transferred internationally, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with applicable data protection law, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below.

You may delete documents and session data at any time via the API. To request deletion of account information or contact form submissions, email us directly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of jheel.io following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
